How do I join the club and how much is it..?

You will need to complete an Application form and forward it to the club secretary with the membership fee. (2012 the cost is £8 if you are a competitor plus £2 for any other person residing at the same address and does not compete.



What documentation do I need..?

Besides the club membership you will need to be affiliated to one of the governing bodies of the sport. Our club is affiliated to the Auto Cycle Union and all our events are run under the ACU rules. Details here are the forms etc that are required

I am 12 years old, what is the max engine size I can compete on..?

All youth riders (A & B Class) cannot compete in an ACU event on a machine with a capacity larger than 125cc.

RIDERS AGE
a) Adult riders: A rider must be at least 16 years of age to participate as an Adult. Sidecar drivers and/or passengers under 16 years of age, but subject to a minimum age of 14, may be allowed to compete in Adult events subject to the discretion of the Trials and Enduro Committee.

b) Youth Riders:  A rider must be at least 6 years of age to participate in a Trial and may continue to ride as a Youth until the end of the calendar year that he reaches 17 years of age. A rider who has reached 16 years but who is eligible as stated above to continue as a Youth may ride either as an Adult or as a Youth and alternate between them unless they choose to compete in the Adult British Solo Trials Championship.

ENGINE CAPACITY CLASSES: The maximum engine capacity permitted for machines used in the age groups set out in the ACU handbook.


What type of trials will I be able to ride..?
The club run 6 different severity of trials. They are as follows:
Autowbars Beginners and Novice Trial - For beginners and slightly tougher course for novices
WBS Series of Wednesday evening trials -
For beginners and slightly tougher course for novices

Club Trial - All solo classes. Part of The closed to Club Championship. (May include a beginners course. Will state it on regs)

Centre Club Restricted - Open to all competitors who are members of a Yorkshire centre Club. Will include a round of our Closed to Club C/ship

West Yorkshire Championship- Part of the old West Yorkshire Group Championship. The club only run 1 round of this c/ship. The trial is The ES Myers Trophy Trial held in December

Centre Championship Trial - Part of the Yorkshire Centre Championship. The club run 1 of these events,  and The Timperley Cup in January. These are not part of The Closed to Club Champioship

Open Trial - Open to anyone who is a member of the ACU. Normally closed to club standard

British Championship (Youth & Adult) As the name suggests the cream of our sport will compete at these trials and the course will be plotted accordingly.

Can I Practice anywhere..?
There are a few places where you can practice with the landowners permission. You need to speak to other riders for other locations etc.The Club have to venues where the landowner allows practice. In both cases please contact the landowner before going onto the land. Anyone caught practicing at any of our venues where practicing is not allowed will be dealt will be banned from any trials organised by the club and will recommend to the Centre and ACU that he is banned from other events.
REMEMBER trials venue's are getting harder to come by. DO NOT jeopardise the sport by going onto land without permission.


Where can I read all the rules..?
When you are affilaited to the
ACU you will recieve the latest version of the handbook. This book contains everything you will need to know.
